We are currently seeking a Head of Accounting & Controlling on behalf of a fast-growing international advisory firm with expanding operations in Greece. This is a full-time, remote-first position designed for a senior finance professional with a strong foundation in bookkeeping, payroll, and financial consolidation.
The successful candidate will play a central role in building and maintaining the internal financial framework of the company, while also supporting selected client mandates. You will work closely with the executive team and external advisors, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations (General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable).
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and tax standards (Greek GAAP, and – with guidance – German GAAP).
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Execute payroll calculations and ensure proper handling of tax and social security obligations.
- Assist with the consolidation of financial statements across multiple legal entities.
- Collaborate with tax and audit partners as needed.
- Design and improve internal finance and controlling processes, both for the company and for client-related engagements.
Candidate Profile:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, payroll, and financial reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of Greek accounting and tax regulations.
- Exposure to German GAAP is an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Odoo is a plus).
- Full professional fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and integrity.
- Self-driven, well-organized, and confident working in a fully remote setting.
